5K/10K/Half Marathon Training
The 5K/10K/Half-Marathon Training is a course designed to increase overall cardiovascular fitness through distance running in preparation for a road race. The course will cover basic principles for developing a progressive training plan, which may include pacing, speed/interval training, hill training, and long runs. Each student will be assisted in creating a training log to help them develop their semester long running program. Individual training plans will incorporate appropriate rest periods, easy runs, long runs, and interval training. No prior running experience is required, and students will choose their own goal distance.
