Intro to Biomechanical Analysis of Movement

PHYISCAL EDUCATION C165 - Introduction to the Qualitative Biomechanical Analysis of Human Movement [4 units] (also listed as Integrative Biology C125L)

Prerequisites:

Integrative Biology 131 and 131L; Physical Education 1-5 sections; basic Physics preferred; consent of the instructor.

Course Format:

Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week.

Course Description:

Physical Education C165 examines the theoretical bases for the understanding and the development of skilled performance in a variety of human movement and athletic activities. Students will qualitatively investigate anatomical and biomechanical principles fundamental to an understanding of human capabilities in selected movement patterns, exercise, motor and athletic activities, and especially, the application of such principles to the improvement of performance.
