Course Description:
Course Description: This course explores the relationship between physical activity, fitness and wellness. The body's physiological response and adaptations to exercise are examined. Principles of training are applied to design safe exercise programs that improve health-related components of physical fitness. Topics on nutrition, weight control, cardiovascular disease and stress management will emphasize the role of regular physical activity in optimizing wellness. Students will have the opportunity to assess their current level of fitness and investigate fitness and health-related claims.
