Volleyball

Level 1:

This basic course will introduce fundamental training in passing, underhand and overhand, serving and attacking techniques.

Level 2:

Students will review and develop a stronger foundation in the basics of passing, underhand and overhand, serving placement, defensive techniques and attacking.

Level 3:

In addition to the fundamental skills of passing, serving, attacking and defense, the proper mechanically sound technique of setting will be emphasized.

Level 4:

This class will provide training in offensive systems (5-1, 6-2, and swing) and defensive systems (perimeter, rotation and read). Also included will be fundamental training in blocking technique.

Level 5: Setting

Students will receive instruction based on the fundamental techniques of setting. Specifically, the skills will include footwork, ball release, set location, nomenclature, and advanced tactics. Course content will also cover court positioning, defensive positioning and techniques including blocking, specifically for setters.

Level 5: Advanced Techniques

This course covers advanced techniques of volleyball, focusing on three core areas:

  • Setting: Students will learn proper footwork, ball release, set location, nomenclature, and advanced tactics.
  • Hitting: The curriculum covers footwork, arm mechanics, first-tempo hitting, and both cross-body and full-rotation techniques.
  • Defense: This section includes instruction on digging, blocking, team defense strategies, and correct court and defensive positioning.
