Basketball
Level 1:
Basketball Level 1 is a course designed for students who are true beginners or have very little basketball experience. For this semester the course will solely focus on individual skill development and cover the basics of dribbling, passing, layups, and the basics of how to build a jump shot as well as how to shoot both off the catch and off the dribble. The course will also include daily shooting contests and drills in which we will record numbers to track shooting improvement throughout the semester. The course will eventually include a version of the NBA skills challenge to create a fun and exciting competitive environment. The goal of the course is to improve overall basketball skills while also increasing basketball fitness and conditioning.
Level 2 and 3:
Basketball Levels 2 and 3 are courses designed for students with some basketball experience who are looking to improve their overall basketball skill, conditioning and fitness level. For this semester the course will solely focus on individual skill development and cover the basics of dribbling, passing, layups, and the basics of how to build a jump shot as well as how to shoot both off the catch and off the dribble. The course will include stationary and full court ballhandling drills, shooting drills both catch and shoot and off the dribble, and 1 on 1 moves. The course will also include daily shooting contests and shooting drills in which we will record numbers to track shooting improvement throughout the semester. The course will also incorporate a version of the NBA skills challenge to create a fun and exciting competitive environment. The goal of the course is to improve overall basketball skills while also increasing basketball fitness and conditioning.
Level 4:
Basketball Level 4 is a course designed for individuals with a lot of basketball experience. For this semester the course will be designed as an individual basketball workout. Emphasis will be placed on improving overall ballhandling skills, shooting skills, and 1 on 1 moves. The course will include stationary and full court ballhandling drills, shooting drills both catch and shoot and off the dribble, 1 on 1 moves, wing progression drills, post moves, and daily shooting contests and recording of numbers to track shooting improvement throughout the semester. The course will also incorporate a version of the NBA skills challenge to create a fun and exciting competitive environment. The goal of the course is to improve overall basketball skills while also increasing basketball fitness and conditioning.
