Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding introduces the student to basic operational and safety fundamentals of this ever-growing recreational activity. In addition to proper paddling techniques, the course will also include fitness based exercises including resistance, flexibility, and resistance training all utilizing the paddle boards. With the aid of anchors and tethers, students will effectively cover required skills in the pool. A one time voluntary weekend paddle in the Berkeley Marina will be offered.
Students MUST know how to swim and possess basic water safety skills. A swim test (50 yds) and basic water safety test (floating and treading) will be administered the first day of class.
