Physical Education 165 I nstructor: M. Kathryn ScottPhysical Education 165 studies the basic biomechanical and anatomical concepts of human movement and their application to fundamental movement patterns, exercise and locomotor skills. Students should have a basic understanding of human anatomy, physics and exercise and selected sports.
The scope of the course will include examining theoretical bases for the understanding and the development of skilled performance in a variety of human movement and athletic activities. It will also investigate the anatomical and biomechanical principles fundamental to an understanding of human capabilities in selected locomotor and athletic activities and, especially, to the application of such principles to the improvement of performance.
