Alexandra Brooke Cummins Choreographer, Instructor and Performer, received her MFA in Performance and Choreography from Mills College as well as two Bachelor’s degrees in Theater Arts with a concentration in dance and French with distinctions from Sonoma State University. She is presently an Artistic Director for the Santa Rosa Junior College Traveling Company and company member of Barclay Broadway Dance Company.
For eight years Alexandra served as the resident choreographer/dance instructor for Roustabout Theater in the north bay and most recently the dance department head for Frenchwoods Performing Arts in upstate New York. As a collegiate instructor she has taught at Saint Mary’s College and the Academy of Art University. She also freelances as a dance instructor and choreographer in the north and east bay. To date Alexandra has choreographed forty seven musicals including Billy Elliot, 42nd Street, In the Heights, White Christmas, Legally Blonde, Anything Goes and Hairspray.
As a performing artist Alexandra has had the privilege of performing in works by Merce Cunningham, Sheldon Smith, Sonya Delwaide, Scott Wells, Kristen Daley, Nancy Lyons, Stephanie Barclay, Anne McAlexander and Mark Haim. Alexandra hold two titles from Arthur Murray including top six for Future Champions in American Smooth and top three for Jack & Jill in Lindy Hop. She has also been a company member of Summer Repertory Theater for four seasons, performing and choreographing works such as West Side Story, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wedding Singer, Peter Pan and The Producers. Alexandra continues to diversifying her dance education by cross training in various styles.
